About This Tool
In typography the first thing a designer judges about running text is its gray value: how dense the lines look, where words break, and how the rag falls down the right edge. Placeholder copy exists so that judgment can happen before the real words are written, a practice printers call greeking. Nonsense in the Latin alphabet works for it because the word lengths and letter frequencies sit close enough to English to produce a convincing texture.
This generator assembles text from a fixed pool of 98 lorem-style words. A sentence is 8 to 19 words, capitalized at the start and closed with a period; a paragraph is 4 to 7 of those sentences. You choose paragraphs, sentences or words, a count from 1 to 50, and whether to open with the standard Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet line. Word selection uses Math.random and runs entirely in your browser.
Notes & Limits
- Sentences are plain runs of words ending in a period. Apart from the classic opening line there are no commas, semicolons or quotation marks, so punctuation-heavy layouts go untested.
- The pool holds 98 entries but only 94 distinct words, so visible repetition sets in well before you reach the 50-paragraph maximum.
- Output is plain text with blank lines between paragraphs. No HTML tags are produced, so you still have to wrap it in markup yourself.
- The text is Latin-alphabet ASCII. It will not expose problems with accented characters, CJK line breaking, right-to-left text or emoji, which need sample copy in those scripts.
