How to Use

About This Tool
A sitemap is an XML file listing the URLs of a site, wrapped in a urlset element in the sitemaps.org 0.9 namespace. Each url entry requires a loc and may carry lastmod, changefreq and priority. It is a discovery aid: it tells a crawler what exists, which matters most for pages that few internal links reach. Google's documentation states that it ignores the priority and changefreq values, and uses lastmod only when the dates are consistently accurate.
Paste URLs one per line and this tool writes the file. Every line must start with http:// or https://, or generation stops and reports how many lines failed. The changefreq and priority you pick are applied to every entry, lastmod is either today's date from your device clock or omitted, and the result downloads as sitemap.xml.
Notes & Limits
- URLs are written into loc unescaped, so an address containing an ampersand produces XML that will not parse. Encode it as & before pasting.
- One changefreq and one priority apply to the whole list. Per-URL values mean editing the output, or generating in batches and joining the files.
- Duplicate lines are not removed and the 50,000-URL ceiling is not enforced, so the tool will write a file larger than a single sitemap is allowed to be.
- Choosing lastmod stamps today's date on every entry, including pages you have not touched. Omit it rather than claim a date you cannot support.
