About This Tool
An identity photo is specified in physical units plus a print resolution, not in pixels: two inches square for the United States, 35 by 45 millimeters across much of Europe and Asia, 25 by 35 millimeters for many ID cards. At 300 dots per inch those become 600 by 600, 413 by 531 and 295 by 413 pixels, which is what a photo counter needs to print them correctly.
The crop box is locked to the selected preset's ratio, and on export the chosen region is drawn onto a canvas of exactly those pixel dimensions over the background color you set. The single photo saves as JPEG at quality 0.95 or as PNG. The print sheet is a 4 by 6 inch PDF built with jsPDF, tiling the photo with dashed cut lines.
Notes & Limits
- The exported JPEG and PNG carry no DPI tag, so printing software may assume 96 dots per inch and scale the photo wrongly. Print the PDF sheet instead.
- How many copies fit depends on the preset: a 2 by 2 inch US photo tiles two to a 4 by 6 sheet, while a 35 by 45 millimeter photo fits six.
- Head height and eye position are not measured. The tool enforces the frame dimensions only, and most authorities also specify where the head must sit.
- The print sheet always embeds the photo as JPEG at quality 0.95, even when you have chosen PNG for the single-photo download.
